The legendary MISSION MOUNTAIN WOOD BAND is back on tour, bringing their special brand of Bluegrass, Rock & Roll, and Good Time-Montana-party music to sold out venues from coast to coast, leaving audiences dancing in the aisles. This is a band who refuses to be pigeon holed and are one-of-a-kind.  M2WB is a band’s band.  5 members on 9 instruments, featuring three lead singers and specializing in flawless four part harmony. Known for these huge vocals and their melodic original material, they have been said to have given birth to the “Jam Band Era.” 

Mission Mountain Wood Band first came to national prominence in the 70’s, when they toured non-stop, putting over 3 million miles on their greyhound scenic cruiser playing over 300 cities a year at such places as Mr. Kelly’s in Chicago, CBGB’s in New York City, the Palomino in LA, and the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. They were featured on several National TV Specials such as  CBS’s Country Comes to New York,  The ABC Cheryl Ladd Special (rated the #1 special of the year) and the  syndicated hit show, Hee Haw. Some of the major acts that have opened for the Wood Band read like a Who’s Who in American music and entertainment– Heart, Jimmy Buffet, Bonnie Raitt, Charlie Daniels and Jay Leno to name a few.

Harrah’s Lake Tahoe celebrates its 50th anniversary by inviting The Mission Mountain Wood Band back to Lake Tahoe.  This five member high-octane bluegrass, country, and rock & roll band created a rush on the Cabaret seating during the years they appeared in Lake Tahoe.  Year after year this band that originates from Montana, would tour through the United States, and each year would come to Harrah’s Lake Tahoe and have pre-show lines drawing out the doors and around the block to get seats for their performances.

The Mission Mountain Wood Band is made up of the original band members that frequented Harrah’s Lake Tahoe all those years.  Rob Quist, Steve Riddle, Christian Johnson, and Greg Reichenberg.  These four original members are excited to welcome Tim Ryan, the award winning Nashville songwriter and recording artist to join them and take the place of the late Terry Robinson.
